I don´t know when we wil see each other
With this project I want to signify female power, maternal power, the power of women fighters and pay tribute to my mother through the iconic figure of Rosalía de Castro (Galician icon that represents the sensitivity and power of female fighter ). A figure represented by means of pixels, which do not allow the figure to be seen with the naked eye. The pixel represents what technology hides and wants to make us forget our own memory. At the same time I want to suggest a counterpoint between the delicacy of the technique (bobbin lace) and the pixelized image itself. It is a tribute to a fighting, sensitive and strong woman that her memory has turned into pixels: my mom. It´s a small representation of how technology makes us forget our own history. Piece made with the technique of bobbin lace, paper embroidery and pintstriping. Materials used: paints, cotton threads and gold leaf. Measures 80cm x 80cm
