Our Father

This project is a double allegory, on the one hand to the catholic religion and on the other to the neoliberal society that we live in the XXI century, where criticism in the form of entertainment is not politically correct. Project made only and exclusively with the bobbin lace technique. The materials used are linen, cotton, metal and silk threads. The silk threads relate to the part of the Dark Vader crown and the others with the part of the mask (in the film, plastic and metal), this creating a simile with the two allegories. Fan of the first Star Wars (1977, the year i was born) and of the Japanese culture that through its armor represents the legendary character of the Star Wars saga, Dark Vader. And fan that because those that seem "bad" aren´t and those that seem "good" aren´t so good.

This piece is placed in a background that is embroidered by hand with metal threads, as well as the embroidery of the churches and the phrase of the bible: "Our Father, who are in heaven". Projecting a metaphor about the father.

In my work I try to relate the material with the theme that I do in each piece, in this way the idea and the figure I make are completed. Let's say that both the materials and the idea form a whole.

This piece also gives value to the power that corporations and others have (represented, in this case through the figure of Dark Vader) and therefore Dark Vader cries bright stones (swarovski). At the same time, the figure of the "bad guy" is just an excuse for others who remain in the shade to be really bad.
